    Dealer Services Warranty

Has anyone else been getting mailings for Dealer Services?  I just got one in the mail today for my father and he has been dead for 48 years.  Yet this is his final notice to extend the factory warranty coverage on his vehicle.  There is even a Registered Owner ID number on the letter.  I have gotten them for myself and I shread them.  Talk about a scam.

Yeah, I've been getting a ton of these letters too. What exactly is this about? Have you tried calling them?
I thought my warranty had expired until i called the dealer.

    Re: Dealer Services Warranty

I JUST GOT ONE THIS MORNING. I DON'T THINK IT IS PART OF A MASS MAILING SCAM. I HAVE AN IDEA HOW THEY GET YOUR INFORMATION. IF YOU DO DECIDE TO CALL LIKE I DID JUST DON'T SUPPLY THEM WITH ANY VITAL INFORMATION. USE YOUR COMMON SENSE: MOST NEW CAR PURCHASES COME WITH A DECENT WARRANTY FROM THE DEALER. THE DEALER ALSO OFFERS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT THEY TRY TO SELL YOU DURING YOUR PURCHASE. THESE COMPANIES ARE LIKE INSURANCE COMPANIES AND THEY ARE DESPERATE TO SIGN UP PEOPLE FOR THESE POLICIES THAT YOU MIGHT NOT EVEN BENEFIT  FROM.

    Re: Dealer Services Warranty

I have been getting them for several years after my Chev Tahoe went out of warranty in 2006.  I have asked them to take me off their calling list, I have asked them to put me on their do not call list and nothing works.

    Re: Dealer Services Warranty

I also found this article on another site regarding Dealer Services.

Missouri Attorney General Sues Wentzville Company that Offers Extended Car Warranties

He's also suing five other companies offering similar services.

The Better Business Bureau lists dealer services as unsatisfactory, with 401 complaints filed over the last three years for problems with contracts, billing practices, refunds, and other concerns.

Most were successfully resolved by the company, but the agency says 44 remain unaddressed.

"Anyone's who's entering into any kind of extended warranty should not seal the deal on the telephone," said Commissioner Jerry Farrell, of the Consumer Protection Commissioner.

Farrell encourages consumers to get contracts in writing before signing up.

He said his agency is investigating dozens of consumer complaints related to at least three Missouri companies that offer extended car warranties.

"People believe they're dealing with their own car company when they are not dealing with anyone related to the car company," said Farrell.

Flanagan said she wants people to know what happened.

"Maybe this will just make some other people aware of what's going on out there and keep them from getting caught up in the same mess," said Flanagan.

The president of the company that administers contacts for dealer services and national auto warranty services apologized for the problem.

He also said company representatives shouldn't have given Flanagan such a hard time. The company didn't comment on the lawsuit filed by the Missouri attorney general's office

    Re: Dealer Services Warranty

We,too, just received this in Ohio.

I called the dealership (Midwestern Auto group in Dublin, Ohio)

The service department manager suggested we ask the following questions:

Do they pay the Mini company labor rates?- he said these companies may pay only a set am't per hr then the consumer is stuck with the rest.

Also, will they pay full amount for replacement parts?

Will they pay the company labor hour times?

What if major components fail? if a transmission goes out at 85000miles, will they pay for a new transmission or will they expect you to find a transmission that was wrecked and has 85000 miles on it?

Request a copy of contract before you sign it

And, lastly, GOOGLE IT--this is how I found your replies!

    Re: Dealer Services Warranty

I just got a letter from Dealer Services addressed to my ex-husband at my address.  We have been divorced for 9 years and he has never lived at this address or been associated with it.  I would like to know how they put this together and HOW TO GET IT REMOVED!   Have you received any information that would help get personal info removed from there data base?  If so, I would like to have the info.

    Re: Dealer Services Warranty

Do you or someone you've spoken to have an address for (or their parent company) Extended Auto Warranty in Plantation, FL?

I believe I just got scammed by this company for a warranty service, and they won't call me back, or let me speak to someone in charge....nor will they give me a mailing address, fax number, etc. I see now (after the fact) that they were prohibited from doing business in Florida -- yet, they can scam others across the country.

I need someone to contact so I can sue them! I'm located in Texas, near Austin.

    Email: tolucaranch@hotmail.com or juliana.helton@trs.state.tx.us

Thanks for any help you can provide!!!

    Re: Dealer Services Warranty

I also live in Ohio. We get calls from them, sometimes twice a day. We press "#whatever" to be removed, talk to them and ask to be removed, on the do not call list. Nothing works. I think it's time to take action againt this company.Angry
