GAS PRICES UPDATE!!! Do We Reach $4.00 a gallon by Memorial Day

I was on Hiawatha Blvd yesterday and drove by Hess and the sign read 3.59 for Regular Unleaded which to me is a new record. I think that something needs to be done about this because it raises the cost of everything. Diesel is at 4.49 a gallon at some stations and other gas stations read 4.69 a gallon this is crazy. I heard $4 is in the works by memorial day and $4.10 or $4.20 by the 4th of July. I mean the days of $2 a gallon is over with and now it would be nice to just see 2.99 at a gas station around here. I never ever in my lifetime have seen gas prices this high and Im only 27 years old. I know what the country is coming to and George Bush isnt doing a thing about it either. Folks a little wise one would fly to your destination instead of driving this year

I'm old enough to remember gas at 1/10th that price (even lower).  Like other things, that's history.  With all the developing countries of the world clamoring for oil products, we're fighting a losing battle for the limited supply.

Perhaps instead of pushing harder to "find more oil" we could seriously work toward other energy sources and more efficient use of what we have.  For the same research investment, we'd be getting a more useful result.

There is much talk about what to do with the rebate check the federal goverment is sending out.  There is not even a question in my mind about the price of gas climbing higher and higher.  My check is being used for gas for my car and food for my family.
