Cashback America Rebates: The Real Deal

A company called Cash Back America guaranteed customers who bought a sewing machine at Keneckts Sewing in Syracuse a $3,000 rebate that would be fulfilled 3 years after making the purchase.

But the rebates haven’t arrived and the company’s phone isn’t being answered.  Now, Cash Back America is being sued by the Florida Attorney General.

Are you waiting on a rebate from Cash Back America at Keneckts or a different store?  Have you had a different experience with the company?

Re: Cashback America Rebates: The Real Deal

I also bought a sewing machine at Knecht's, but my rebate isn't due until 8/19/08.  The primary reason I bought the expensive new machine was because of the rebate.  I'm hoping this mess will clear up before August, but I should have known that it was too good to be true.  It sure isn't what I wanted to hear!  The woman in the story says it isn't a scam because it didn't cost her anything.  I disagree!  Most of us justified buying the machine because of the rebate....it cost plenty!  By the way, it is a wonderful sewing machine, but very pricey.

Re: Cashback America Rebates: The Real Deal

I too bought a product with a CashBack America rebate for $2700.  It was for a spa purchase on 12/13/2002. I filled out all the paperwork and sent in the final rebate June 2007.  My last phone call on October 26, 2007 Susan said that my rebate was approved and I will be receiving the check in 2-3 weeks.  Subsequent phone calls were met with busy signals or no answer.  I also sent an e-mail and received a reply saying that they have asked UNITED STATES ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES (USAS) to research the status and they will get back to me as soon as they respond.  I replied asking for a phone number for USAS and received no reply.  They seem to pass the buck to USAS and meanwhile no one is getting refunds. I am trying to contact my retailer to see if he has any suggestions.  My next step will be to contact the NY attorney general.  There are currently actions by the Florida and Pennsylvania attorneys general.

Re: Cashback America Rebates: The Real Deal

I have about the same issue. Cash Back America guaranteed customers who bought a piano from Colton Piano, in San Jose California, a rebate ($1894.00 in my case) that would be fullfiled 4yrs and a half after making the purchase. Since July I had many contacts with them, at 1 407-658-8404. They promised me in July and August 2007, to wait untill October 2007. At the end of October 2007, they told me that in 3 weeks I will get the check. Of course I did not get any check. Since December 2007 I have tried to contact them: 2 emails, no answer, many phone call w/o answer and now, January 2008 the phone number does not exist anymore. How is it possible? Do we need a John Wayne to help us?

wondering if anybody has heard any more.  I have received a form to fill out from the attorney generals office and will pursue this., yes it was a scam, I thought it wasn>t one because i didn,t have to pay out any money, but like others I would not have purchased from this dealer or anyone for the asked price.

Re: Cashback America Rebates: The Real Deal

Have you or any one talked to Nadine at Knechts? If i have to send a copy of the offer to the attorney general, I can,t because you have to send in the original when you apply for the rebate.  Perhaps she has a few more lying around soIcan get a copy. sharon morano

Re: Cashback America Rebates: The Real Deal

I purchased a piano and paid a price which included $1188 which would be kept by Cashback America in a trust until I complied with all the rules and registrations and waiting the assigned time. I did everything to the dot. After I completed the process, I called the number and was told “there was a back log processing my voucher. That back log and the check would be cleared in the first week of December.” I sent emails resulted in requests from Cashback America to confirm my email is legitimate but nothing more. Now the phone is dead. The Piano was purchased at Colton Piano in Santa Clara Country of California but the Cashback Promotion is in Florida. What can I do to receive these funds?

    Here is the timeline:

    Dec 22, 2002

Bought a piano from Colton Piano and entered an agreement with Cash Back America to reimburse $1188, 54 months after this.

    Dec 23, 2002

Sent Registered Letter to United States Administrative Services Company to complete process.

    Dec 26, 2002

    Received

Received confirmation from post office (PS Form 3811) that letter was received. Signed by M. Goudyear.

    July 3, 2007

Sent Registered Letter to United States Administrative Services Company to complete process.

    July 7, 2007

Received confirmation from post office (PS Form 3811) that letter was received.

    August 22, 2007

Spoke with Cheryl who said that they were behind in processing and if I did not receive my check by the first week of December, 2007, I should call back.

Called numerous times since then and the phone was busy.  I have also emailed and received reply’s to verify that my email is valid but nothing more.  Now the phone is number is no longer active.

Re: Cashback America Rebates: The Real Deal

    Hi,

You can add one more to the list.  This time it was a $1769 Husqvarna/Viking sewing machine from Country Stitches in Lansing, Michigan.  I, too, did all the right paperwork.  I have filed a report at ripoffreport.com.  I will write Country Stitches, the Florida AG, and the Michigan AG.

    Who else should we contact?

Re: Cashback America Rebates: The Real Deal

Add me to the list, I purchased a serger from Country Stitches in Jackson, MI and have sent in all my paperwork, etc.  I have the certified receipt that it was received by Ronald Gooding on December 21, 2007.  I have tried to contact the company, however, emails are returned.  I will report to Country Stitches and the Attorney General.  This was the main reason I purchased the serger.

Re: Cashback America Rebates: The Real Deal

I filled out a form and sent it to the Syracuse office of the New York State Attorney General a couple of weeks ago.  I recieved a reply that they have forwarded a copy of my complaint to CashBack America.  I don't know if much will come of this, but it's worth a try.  I think if everyone sends in a complaint then maybe something will come of it.

Re: Cashback America Rebates: The Real Deal

Well folks, I suspect all we can rely on is if the Florida AG can extract some money.  I was in the Orlando area last week and visited the addresses listed in the documents.  I had some rebate checks that were due late last year and followed the directions to the letter.  These were received when we purchased a vacation time share.

Cashback America Inc, 6250 Hazeltine National Drive, Suite C-104, Orlando, FL is vacant and has a for lease sign on the front.  This is one office in a commercial strip mall.  The phone number 407-658-8404 is out of service.  This is a recent development since I called this number on Jan 8, 2008 and did talk to someone.

The United States Administrative Trust Co at 5575 South Semoran Blvd (old address from 2003) moved to 18950 US Hwy 441, Unit 306, Mount Dora, FL.  This is a Pak Mail office and the "unit 306" is nothing but a mailbox.  The lady at Pak Mail said there were a lot of requests for the actual location of the owner of box 306.  She could not provide this information.

I checked Yellowpages.com for "United States Administrative Trust" and got a hit with United States Adminstrative Services Inc, 34315 Donna Vista Pl Eustis, FL 32736.  This is a house that is only 5 miles away from the Pak Mail box office.  I did not have this data last week otherwise I might have made a visit to this location too.
