Re: small school coverage especially central square

    Hello????

Newschannel 9 has been the only local station to cover the band programs and they have featured Central Square more than once.  They have provided a forum and methods for people to upload their small school's performance at this site.  Good job 9WSYR!

I understand that CS was featured in the morning news but I missed it.  Is there any way to see a copy online?

Thank you Ch. 9 for doing this.  Music

Has anyone seen Auburns Show yet???????

I was able to watch it at the first show (at CNS) and it was very entertaining to me, my son & his wife.

    Good luck with everything!

Re: Welcome to the Marching Band Forum

I have seen the Auburn show a few times and I think it's great. It's fun to watch and it looks like the kids have a blast doing it. What a feat for the drumline to march with masks on their heads!

This is my first year involved with helping out my daughter and her band and it's awesome. It's amazing to see the enthusiasm, energy and dedication of every band out there.

The Auburn show is very entertaining! ANd all these kids in each band work their butts off, for hrs and hrs. You should be able to watch Auburn's show on this site but it is very good in person.

Re: small school coverage especially central square

I have been to all but one of the comps. I give credit to all the schools big and small. But I have not seen any coverage on Sat. nights on any of the local channels about any smaller schools and just heard coverage Sat night for ESM. Sure Channel 9 covers it on the website. Which is awesome, but we all know the big coverage goes to the dome. Field band is like any other activity for these kids - why not cover the bands like the channels cover the highschool sports!? The kids work just as hard in field band. Plus some people don't have access to computers. Kudos, to at least, one channel giving some type of coverage someway.

Re: small school coverage especially central square

I definately agree!! I have been to all the shows and all the bands/colorguard are awesome to watch but Central Square has improved every week and has scores that the bigger schools recieve like this past Sat. They have only been a like 5 pts  apart. The director and his staff (Central Square) also deserve the spotlight, they all have done such good work with the field band - the kids love them all. I have been in this area now for 11 yrs , and throughout the yrs. the coverage seems to be all about Liverpool, W.Genny, and ESM. They are all very good. I am a parent of a band member for Central Square, and know how many hrs all the kids from all the schools put in so I give kudos to them all. I feel the local channels should give full coverage to all the schools just like they give coverage for other school activities. But watch out Dome cause The Redhawks are on their way and about to blow the top off the Dome!! Good luck to all the bands and enjoy your spotlight at the Dome you have definately deserve the applause.

Re: Welcome to the Marching Band Forum

For as long as I can remember, field band was for the band nerds.  My very talented muscian son, therefore, had no interest.  Somehow last year, he was sucked in to fill a "hole".  Now, he can't imagine NOT marching.  With Channel 9s coverage, these hard working and talented kids feel a little more appreciated.  My younger son is thrilled that in his first year marching, he can have all his friends watch him on video - they are even considering joining themselves now! (We know how hard it can be to recruit kids!).  Thank you to Channel 9 for starting what I hope to be a trend with other media!

    Auburn

Auburn won again in Webster! They had a score of 80.35. They didn't win their entire class this week, but we all know they're going to step it up for the dome! I really think this is Auburn's year to win gold.
