Re: Cashback America Rebates: The Real Deal

I purchased a hot tub through a spa dealership in Maryland and had it delivered to my New York residence September 2004 and the rebate was $2000.00 to be fulfilled in 3 years.  Aug 07 I sent the required documents certified to the Mt. Dora address.  I found out about the address change by calling ahead of time and I spoke to a receptionist named Cheryl who provided the change of address.  31 October 07 I called to follow up and again spoke to Cheryl who asked for the my voucher stub number stated they don't process till 30 days after the final rebate date which for me would be 21 Oct 07.  And, there was a backlog  so the earliest I may hear something would be around 21 Jan 08.  Maybe it's time to get New York State's attorney's office involved.   Betsy

Re: Cashback America Rebates: The Real Deal

Another complaint from Michigan.   This is the month I am to send in my final info from my 2005 purchase of a Viking sewing machine from Country Stitches in Flint, MI.   Once I left the post office I returned home and checked on line and found all this info re: no rebate.    I definitely intend to call Country Stitches tomorrow (must call Lansing or Jackson, since Country Stitches has closed in Flint!!!!!!).    I still have the newspaper ad.   I save everything, but perhaps it will do not good.    However, I do expect CS to make good on this great promotion.    I will also contact State Attorney General if necessary.

Re: Cashback America Rebates: The Real Deal

I also purchased a Husqvarna sewing machine from Country Stitches and spent all the money mailing the rebates back and forth and now Cash Back America is not answer the phones. It says the line has been disconnected. Can we do anything? I sent all my rebate papers registered mail.

    Any advice will be helpful.

My husband purchased tires from Connersville Express Center on 06/07/05 and was promised

by them and Cashback America a full refund in 3 years.  Well, I just tried and found out

they seem to be no longer in business.  They owe us $458.36

Is there anything we can do???  I have all the paperwork

Re: Cashback America Rebates: The Real Deal

    Hi Betturn -

My name is Todd and I too was ripped off - but the company that jerked me around was Mr. Roof out of Ann Arbor.  Mr. Roof, in their sales pitch promised me that after 54 months of waiting, they would send me a $6,000 rebate.  Nothing about Cashback came up in the sales pitch, just a plain piece of paper saying if I was still in my house - with their new roof.. (which had two leaks thereafter) I would get my rebate.  Now they are telling me the same song and sad story as other culprits in this scheme, that they are out of the $ and the rebate is not their problem any longer.  I am going to pursue them also.  I am going to call the various TV stations and see if I can get one of their 'Problem Reporters' to engage - but since Mr. Roof advertises on many of these stations, I don't know if they will bite.

I would like to leverage any communication letters you sent to the MI reps, BBB, etc.. would you be willing to share what you sent?

    Thanks,

    Todd

Re: Cashback America Rebates: The Real Deal

Add me to the list bought a Pfaff sewing machine from Roberts Sewing in Joliet Illinois. Filled out all the paper work waited 3 years and now no rebate. Filed with both the Flordia and Illinois Attorney General. Got a letter back today from the Illinois Attorney General with a response from Ken Roberts of Roberts Sewing that stated he has done nothing wrong and that I must not have followed the rules of the rebate to the letter. He also stated he was not responsible for paying the rebate. Have not heard a word from the Flordia Attorney General office, time to give them a call.

Re: Cashback America Rebates: The Real Deal

In 2005 I purchased a NEW Yamaha VStar Silverado from Ace Powersports in Kenosha WI. The bike dealer told me I would get a rebate of $3000.00 in approximately 36 months if I followed all the directions. The dealer assured me that this was on the up and up and I would get my money. They explained that the reason they could offer such a deal was because most people forget to follow up or don't follow the directions properly and then the rebate is cancelled.

It seems to me that the party that talked me into this motorcycle was the dealer. The party that promised the rebate was the dealer. The people I talked to was the dealer. I never was approached by Cashback America. Who suckered who here?

I have thier scent and I'm on the trail. Big Smile

Re: Cashback America Rebates: The Real Deal

Like you, I think the dealer is also responsible. I am in the hole $2000 for a piano from East Coast Piano in New Jersey. I am wondering if they get anything from the "Cashback America" company

Re: Cashback America Rebates: The Real Deal

I contacted the store I purchased the machine at in Michigan, they said they were also out money and only to file at the atty general. They were unsympathetic and offered no help. I feel they are some what part of the scam as they continued to o9ffer the rebate even last spring when they were already somewhat fraudulent. I see the product I purchased last is on sale at the shop for about $500 less than what I paid for it. so.. I do not frequent the stor I purchased the machine at as I feel they need to offer some compensation to the customer.

Re: Cashback America Rebates: The Real Deal

I also agree with you. They have me for over $10000 in machines and tables that I would not have purchased for any other reason. I feel those of us who wre customers should get together and speek with the country stitches. as long as we are all individuals we will get nowhere.

Re: Cashback America Rebates: The Real Deal

My dealings with Country Stitches was in Jackson MI, and I got the same song and dance, nothing they can do about it they were also ripped off.......This was an amazing scam that made Cash Back America and the merchants very rich........I have complained and filed complaints with MI Attorney General, Florida Attorney General, and Country Stitches.......I have gotten absolutely no where.......only in America, the rich get richer and the middle class gets dumped on.

Re: Cashback America Rebates: The Real Deal

I also purchased an embrodery machine from a merchant in Maitland, FL.   Followed all the instructions.  Have all my paperwork.  Just submitted the final certified letter on 7/7/08 yet the post office has been unable to deliver.

The phone number and fax have been disconnected.  I've sent email but no response.  I'm having the same results as it seems other folks are experiencing.  What a rip off!

Re: Cashback America Rebates: The Real Deal

k you guys, do your research (Cash America - out of business, don't waste your time), I too purchased a motorcycle from Ace as well, promised $3K:

Dec. 2007 - Attorney General of Florida took Cashback America (USAS) to court, everything in limbo at this point.

Go to here to file a complaint:

If the case gets damages YOU MAY get something, maybe not, but its worth a shot.

Here is the case at the BBB:

We moved from WI to Florida and have noticed a lot of bad bad nasty people lying through their teeth.  Be a better consumer, READ, ASK and don't listen to somebody else.  You probably know more than they do.  Ace Powersports was bought out last year November.  I will be contacting them next.  The finance guy "Tom" no longer works there - gee I wonder why.  At that time they also messed up our bike and we started using the Yamaha in Mukwonago - great place!

I would hammer Florida Attorney General with all you got.  They have to stop the garbage that goes on in this state!  Beautiful place - just a not so nice place to live.
