What Would You Do If You Found $140,000 On The Street Like The Man in California Did?

I found it interesting when I found this story and read about that the man returned the money. I know a lot of people I talked to said that they would keep the money if they found it. To Me I would keep it as well but honestly I think I would return and be expecting a reward for it as well. What do any of you think would you keep the money or return the $140,000 back to the person it came from?

Thats a tough one! It would be a real hard decision especially in todays rough times, but I think my concious would get the best of me. I would put myself in the persons position that lost it and probably would return it.

Who carries $140,000 in cash?  I don't think I would want them looking for me if I kept their money.

I'd find it hard to explain a sudden influx of money in my life :o)

Seriously, though, if there were some identifying information, I'd return it.  Whoever lost it would probably be in some serious anxiety.  Without identifying makrs, I suppose I'd hear for the local police department, have them inventory it in my presence, sign a receipt for it, and hope they find the owner.  At least then you have some claim to it if it isn't claimed.  A more paranoid person would tell the police they'd found a large sum of money and provide a point of contact so that the owner could claim it by some suitable method of proof.
