People should exercise caution early this year as temperatures are high and its only raining about once a week or so. Grass and fields are dry and there are some extra leaves laying around from last fall, creating a great fire starter. This spring alone there have been 56 reports of brush and grass fires that have either been put out quick, or resulted in structure fires. Some of these fires have spread so quick that multiple fire departments have been called to the same scene. Another problem with these fires is not only does it spread fast but fire trucks can only hold so much water and there arent enough hydrants around on those country roads. So please protect yourself and neighbors, put out your ciggarettes instead of flicking them. In a controlled burn have plenty of water around or a shovel to cover it in dirt. Dont let these little things ruin more than they have to be safe not lazy.
