Summer Program

SPARK - Skill Progress and Reading Kids - July 7th-August 15th
This flexible program is designed to keep kids up to speed over the summer and help them with skills they may have missed during the school year.  High school and college kids will mentor younger students with work especially designed to help them in problem areas.  The cost for the younger student is $30.  For that, we will match you with an older student volunteer, contact your teacher (with your permission) and set up a plan for the summer.  It is hoped that younger students and their mentors will meet at 8 to 10 times at CLIC to work for an hour each time.  CLIC will be open every day during those 6 weeks - some days into the evening to accommodate all.  Educational consultants (adults) will be overseeing this program.  This program is for younger students currently in grades 1-8 (not kindergarteners) and older students to be mentors currently in grades 9 through college.  Hours are very flexible. Applications are available at CLIC.

If you are a high school or college student and want to participate in this program, please come to CLIC to fill out a SPARK mentoring form.  We would like to know the age group that you would like to work with and when you'll be available.  We will match you with a younger student and ask you to contact them to set up a mutually agreeable time to meet at CLIC.  You can make a huge difference in the life of a child and we hope that you will take some time to participate in this program.  We will track your volunteer hours for you.
