Filmmakers, actors and producers from around the world will be attending the festivities at this year's Opening Event, highlighted by the screening of "Red Like the Sky" and Italian film by Cristiano Bartone.

 

  Bartone tells the story of the film's actual supervising sound editor, who was blinded as a child in a freak accident with a hunting rifle.  It continues to follow his life at a private school in Genoa, where he befriends the groundskeeper's daughter who introduces him to the movies--where he is entranced by the sounds.  This intimate film story of how the cinema freed a child to become a master practitioner is a special treat!
