ST. JOSEPH’S AND THE FRANCISCAN PLACE HOST EVENT ON ADVANCE CARE PLANNING
SYRACUSE - St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center in partnership with The Franciscan Place at Carousel Center in Syracuse will host a free informational table on advance care planning on Wednesday, April 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Carousel Center. Tables will be located on the first and second levels near the elevators.
The information is designed to educate the public about advance care planning and answer questions people may have about making important health care decisions. Trained facilitators will be on hand to help attendees fill out necessary health care proxy forms.
“Advance care planning should not only be thought of when someone is sick or dying,” said Adam Schechter, ethics associate at St. Joseph’s. “In fact the best time to think about your own health care wishes is when you are healthy and with a clear mind. Everyone needs to think about their options.”
The free advance care planning informational tables are sponsored by St. Joseph’s Ethics Committee and The Franciscan Place. For more information, call 448-5883.
