Dave, I have a quick question. It was 35 degrees here yesterday morning, yet it was snowing out. Does the snow have the same effect on plants as frost or is the temperature the only thing that matters ?

I'm not 100% sure about the impacts of snow on plants but I'm guessing that Wednesday's snow was not as meaningful as the cold Thursday morning.

Here's an interesting piece of weather history for those of you who may remember. It was 25 years ago this evening the a tornado hit Phoenix and took the roof off Wickes Lumber, and also twin tornadoes hit Boonville. I believe one of them was actuall a F3 tornado.

I see in our midday Sunday forecast we have dry weather for next Saturday but a lot hinges on a storm system headed toward the eastern half of the country late next week. I noticed that most of the computer guidance that Mark looked at yesterday had that system staying to our south. Today they are farther north with this system which implies some rain for us late in the week. We'll see how that impacts the forecast Mark posts later. My guess is that he will have to put some showers in for Thursday and Friday. Not sure about Saturday.

Hey Jim. Why have you changed the Mother's Day forecast three times now? The models are showing very little rain all week and you keep discussing showers each day here. Lets just pick a forecast and stick to it

A lot of weather folks change forecasts when more info becomes available.

If they leave the forecast as it was and the weather is different, you'd be crying because they didn't update their forecast.
