Thursday Morning, 2/7/2008-Dave Longley- This weather has got to be eating up the snow enthusiasts! We've had over 3 inches of rain in just the first 6 days of this month. We're nearly as wet as the 10th wettest February on record. I got to thinking, where is the snow? I mean, I have a boilerplate covering of snow at my house in Cicero, but if you're a skier or snowmobiler, where is the best snow in the Northeast.
I stumbled across this picture today. I knew they had some big snows the past couple of days in northern NY. This picture shows where the modeled snow cover is. That is, the snow cover that goes into our computer models. This should give you a good idea as to where the snow is.

You can click on the image to head to the site I found this. Actually, there are all sorts of cool things to look at on the site.
If you are a snow lover, early next week will be your chance at seeing some accumulation snow. Teske's all excited, just one week until pitchers and catchers report for Spring training. I'm more excited because the Sprint Cup boys are on the track Saturday night for the Bud Shootout. In the words of Darrell Waltrip, "Boogity, boogity, boogity"
