Posted by Dave Longley - Well, another Monday, and some folks are starting off with the day off. Lucky you!
After a cool weekend (some areas made it into the teens Sunday
morning!), temperatures are on the rise again. A warm front
coming through today, will push temperatures into the low 50s.
We'll probably make it near 55 tomorrow with plenty of sun. Maybe
tomorrow will be the day to start putting out the Christmas
lights. Or better yet, I could squeeze in one more lawn
cutting, before cleaning up the mower for the winter.
The jet stream is forecast to lift north right into Wednesday, which
will help to push temperatures well into the 50s, to even low
60s. Jim Teske and I were just looking at the new maps this
morning, and it now looks like we could make it through a good chunk of
Wednesday rain-free. The warmth won't stick around for too long
(it never does in mid-November) and we see things turning cooler as we
head toward the weekend.
The opening of deer hunting season with firearms in the southern zone
of New York State opens up this Saturday. A lot of people will be
out in the woods, and it looks like things will be taking a turn toward
cooler and more unsettled weather then.
What about beyond, toward Thanksgiving? That's starting to get
into our sights, and we'll expand more on that through the week.
