Saturday night I knew it was going to be cold. I went out to my car at 9 PM and I had to scrape off my windshield. My car thermometer was reading 28.
Clear skies and light winds and you know the drill--perfect radiational cooling. The official low at the airport was 22 which was still 3 degrees above a record for the day. I check some of the observations from around the area and here is what I found:
Auburn 20
Norwich 19
Locke (Cayuga Co.) 16
Boonville 18
Ithaca 18
Tully 15
This was the coldest morning of the fall season so far and really sped up the leaf drop here in the Syracuse area. I had a tree at my house that was full of green leaves yesterday and this morning they were all down on the ground (or in my gutters). Even though it was frosty this morning we hope you enjoyed the rare November sunny day. More about November and clouds in the regularly scheduled TT on Wednesday.....
