I think you have to give Coach Robinson a break. In our Mcdonald society people want instant gratification. Now I know it's been what , 3 years? But i've recently moved to Missouri and it's taken 7 years to turn this program around, now look at them. Let Coach get at least 1-2 of HIS own recruiting classes before "The Faithful Orange Fans" sentence him to the gallos.

Greg Robinson is a farce as a coach. He's had 3 years to provide a winning season and hasn't yet. If he was a coach in the NFL,he'd be gone by now. I think it's time to look for not only a new head coach,but a new athletic director. SU fans are tired of hearing Syracuse lose at football.

Syracuse University is too cheap to pay Robinson and to go out and pay for a top notch football coach. Robinson is only half the problem. Gross has done nothing to enhance the athletic program or make the SU fan welcome. Make it a package deal, get rid of them both.

As a season ticket holder for many years this is one of the wost decisions they could make. The attendance has dropped to the lowest in years. We have stopped going to the games as they are a farce. Soon people will not be continueing with their season tickets for games they do not see.
The student athletics' go to what ever school for their education and for the opportunity to play sports in a winning program. their whance of being drafted into the pro's lessons with every loss. Recruiting will be soft because of this. The coach has had three years to build the program and can't do it. His qualifications in coaching are not there to build on. It is time for him to go and if the athletic director can't do it maybe he should go also.

Us hometown 'cuse fans have gave him a break the last two years and no progress is showing through. 7-28 is a sad statistic that Robinson will need at least two years to overcome, he might as well quit now. As both Gross and Robinson say they are optimistic about next year, and we've heard that consecutively the past three years. Well, "optimism" isn't enough to win football games. What happend to the 'cuse being a football and basketball powerhouse in the Big East? Now i'm embarassed to go to any of their football games let alone wear a football t-shirt. Now let's get real here there's definently a problem when you have larger attendance at the exhibition basketball games than a Big East football game in the dome, even when only half the dome can see the court!

Nobody likes a loser, but we have to give the team a chance to succeed. We can't just fire the coach every couple of years because the team isn't winning. There are many factors required for a winning program and although the team isn't winning yet, I think that they will start winning next year. All of the pieces are starting to fall into place. We will need some good recruits and the young linemen will have to step it up, but I think they can. Remember that Coach McPherson was being chastized prior to his winning seasons at SU. Keep working hard Orange! BELIEVE!

SU is the only University with a 7-28 record that would keep their coach. He's had 3 yrs to prove himself and he failed miserably. They should get a high profile coach that's offensive minded not defensive. Also dump the pro style offens and get a college style system. They should also get coaches who know what they're doing.

I have a great idea. Perhaps Coach Robinson should prove his attachment to Syracuse. Seeing his hefty salary and no doubt many perks, let hin donate 45 to 50% of his salary to local charities. Make a wish, the Children's Hospital, Humane Society, etc. I wish I only could make that kind of money for a substandard job. If you and I we performing in our workplace as he is performing in his position we would be fired, and it wouldn't take three years.

I know of seven other season ticket holders, including myself, who will not renew our tickets next year. If Coach Robinson had the same performance in the business world, he would be long gone by now. He had his chance and did not show any improvement. What good high school players are going to want to commit to SU with the record they have? If AD Gross really believes in improving the football program, he has a funny way of showing it. Thank God basketball season is here.

I agree with both the athletic director and Robinson in that the team has the talent and desire to win. Where I disagree is giving Robinson another year. I have gone to the games and watched them on TV and as the season dragged on there was less and less attendance. With attendance at the last game the lowest since the 1980s, how can the university allow this? He has had long enough to produce and I believe he is costing the school money from poor attendance and wasting these athletes' lives and possible careers with his incompetence.

I have been going to Syracuse football games with my father since I was 5 years old and have never seen the dome so pathetic along with the talent. Everyone would rather drink than watch the game. Shoot, there are people who go and tail gate and stay at bars instead of going to the game because the games are over by half. They don’t want to waste the time to walk to the game. Would that have ever happened in the past. Section 3 high school football has now won 3 out of the last 5 state titles and Robinson has still not been able to bring in an of those players. What I am getting at is there is local talent and they all would rather play some where else. You have a athlete at Onondaga who is going to play for a school because his father is there. I’m sorry but if you are a good recruiter you do something to bring that kid in. No one goes to college to stay close to their family. That what parents weekend, homecoming, and breaks are for. Like I said it stinks as a fan since birth when you forget SU is playing and who they are playing. It also sucks when your father calls you up to go to the game and you already made plans to do something else. By the looks of the Dome during the Cincinnati game it looks like I was not the only one who made other plains.

Coach Robinson and Dr. Gross are not part of the S.U.'s tradition. Tradition is where most of S.U.'s success came from. S.U's tradition of executing the option, the # 44, energetic and enthusiastic coaching staff is what gave life to the program! I think thats only part of the problem.
One of many problems is our expectations of these Student / Athletes. We as the community have put way to much pressure on the coaching staff and players! Media coverage showing discurraged fans and a half filled Carrier Dome. Ridiculing can be overwhelming for anyone to fully function. I played H.S. Football for two years and it got to us to the point we went from top to bottom. I can say alot needs to change. My favoriote, retiring numbers to boost attendance at the dome!!! We can honor those numbers and players by keeping their numbers alive and continue tradtion! Or, We can cut the number of players to accomidate the rafters with numbered jerseys.

Syracuse University is getting payback for hiring someone with no professionalism at all. That was clear on the shabby treatment given to coach P, when he was released from the program. You have an overpaid under qualified director who proved that when he hired an unqualified coach to take over the program. This coach has lost more games in the last three years then anyone could imagine would be possible for a college of this size and stature. If either one of these men were hired to run a business they would have been fired a lot sooner. I feel bad for the players and the fans who are still out here. However its also hard to watch a team perform worse each year they step on the field. Nancy should put these men on commission. If they win they get paid and if not they don't. Lets see how long they hang around Syracuse.

If I remember correctly when he was hired, Coach Robinson was given a 4 or 5 year contract. I think SU should give the man that amount of time to prove his method of coaching and give the players the courtesy of our support. You can't change a program overnight. Give them a break or no player will want to take a chance on SU in the future.

The three amigos have done nothing good for the program. Gross plays favorites, Robinson doesn't play at all, and Cantor doesn't seem to care. Coach P got a bad deal and that will be in me mind for as long as the lunatics keep running the asylum. It will takes years for the program to rebuild. I like the idea of canceling the program. Su could make more renting the field than in ticket sales.

I have watched the ups and downs for a very long time. I think the only reason they are keeping both Gross and Robinson is that they both look good and sound good in the media sound bites. I don't understand how they have earned their huge paychecks. In business, they would have been out in a year or two for under performing. Coach P was tossed out quickly and many people were very upset with the new chancelor's decision. Now she goes and supports these two losers because they look and sound good. All three are a disappointment.

Once the chancelor realizes how much $$$ they are loosing in ticket sales maybe she will smarten up and rethink shelling out the 1 million/year salary to Robinson (Associated Press story: Sports coaches top salary list of SU employees nov 28 2006) and whatever they are paying Gross. You nay sayers are incredibly stupid. As far as the Corporate world:
1. You establish a Strategic plan.
2. The plan has benchmarks for the coach to hit.
3. A time line is established to achieve those goals.
4. There are meetings to discuss any midcourse corrections to the plan and timeline.

IN the Corporate world the upper management team has their players backs as long as the above are being met. Why are the nay sayers stupid?

1. You have no idea what the time line is. Hint : the contract is for 5 years.
2. You have some idea what the strategic plan is. Hint : S.U. brings in a guy like Gross from L.A. who has BIG IDEAS about a winning program
3. Midcourse corrections are being made. Hint: the offensive plan is about to change as announced yesterday.

Now is a good time to buy season tickets...like a slump in the stock market. When I lived in BUffalo, I bought season tickets a month before rthey signed Jim Kelly. I enjoyed great tix for their hay day of 4r Super Bowls. They are still rebuilding also. Did they fire *** Jauron because half their great players got hurt? Hint: see the hurt players at "Cuse?

What a bad time to fire a coach..you lose all the recruits you were working on. BTW Coach Robinson has 2 seasons on his recruits not 3.

Why would any good recruit come to 'Cuse? Immediate playing time for Immediate impact.
