It was the first Friday night game in the Carrier Dome's history, but as far as the Orange are concerned, they'd rather forget about it.

The Huskies' Louis Rankin stole the show, running for a a career-high 147 yards and three touchdowns... helping the Huskies beat the Orange 42-12 on Friday night.

In a game featuring two quarterbacks who had never started in college, Jake Locker easily outperformed Cuse's Andrew Robinson, but Robinson had signs of brightness. His offensive line did not help him.

Robinson finished 20-for-32 for 199 yards but was sacked seven times, losing 17 yards on 13 carries.

Greg Robinson and the SU Athletics department got the large crowd they were hoping for. Over 42,000 fans showed up in the dome, but Robinson's record now drops to 5-19 at the start of his third season with the Orange.

Leave your comments about the game, what you thought about the players, the coaches, fans, telecast... whatever you want to talk about.

What do you think this means for next week, as the Orange travel to face Iowa?

SU fans...keep a positive attitude.  SU looked bad mainly because UW is so good.  Don't give up on SU yet as they are going to win some games.  The fact is that UW is extremely talented and hungry and that combination may eventually mean playing for the national title.  Remember, you read it here first.

Perhaps the "west coast" style should remain on the west coast.   Get a coach that is ready to rock and roll like the CNY Winters.

SU looked so bad mainly because UW is so good and extremely talented? HaHaHaHa! are you for real? Come back to reality and that is this: We were BLOWN OUT by a low ranked team with a freshman quarterback in his first college game on our home field. I will give you this: sure it is possible UW will come out of nowhere and do far better than expected perhaps make a bowl who knows that is not unreasonable. Sure they could even EVENTUALLY play for a national title. But not this year or the next they are nowhere near that point right now so how does this make the loss any more bearable/explainable? SU was plain old out-played, out-hustled, and yes out-coached. It was obvious to me the defense was not prepared for what happened out there yesterday especially the linebackers. No I do not think GRob should be fired immediately and I still have some faith left. There were some bright spots. I do not expect immediate success. I am patient. Of course we could use better players in some positions. However I saw poor tackling, poor discipline, and poor positioning. Bad football fundamentals. The defense and to a degree offense simply fell apart at times. To me this all points mainly to one thing: poor coaching. I hope this is a turning point. A wake up call. Changes need to be made. If they are not and no degree of improvement is shown throughout this season I am sorry to say that we will need more than better athletic talent, we will need better coaching talent as well.

I think it's time that Mr. Gross and Mr. Robinson should look for other jobs somewhere else. Ever since Gross came in and shook things up, and brought in Robinson on a whim, the program has gotten worse. The first year you can give to Robinson as everyone claimed, they were not his players he recruited, and I guess you could thrown in a partial 2nd year, but what's the excuse since then? Incompetence of the coach perhaps, or how about the Director who has shown no ability to hire the proper talent to help mold the kids into the teams we've had in the past? I cannot though justify spending anymore money on season tickets anymore to support the players when the school and staff cannot support them by giving them the coaching staff they need so desperately. A disgruntled fan.

I think everyone wants a winning team like we had with coach Macpherson, well its alot harder to recruit the talent we need for a team like that, you cant just snap your fingers and get it or have it .we as fans should show loyalty to our team and staff, and maybe then we could get players that would come to syracuse.who wants to play for team that only has solid fans when there winning ? if we were to stick together thick or thin maybe there would be a start to a base for a school and team and comunity that would atract this talent .

Maybe coach P wasn't so bad after all. The team rises or falls on leadership. It's time for a change. How many lousy years do we have to have before someone wakes up and realizes the impact this is having on our school and our city. Winning games bring people in, but if we keep losing, we're also losing revenue because people aren't going to go to the games anymore. Empty seats don't pay the bills.

So i guess we can figure out why someone like Mike Hart chose Michigan over SU. Ok Michigan did lose to Div II school. But he had a good game. Im willing to take the Central Square pop warner team against SU. They looked really really bad. And to think everyone thouight it was Coach P that was the issue. Well Coach Robinson....bet Staying at texas is looking better and better..Go orange....All the way to the Toilet Bowl....the only bowl they will be seeing anytime soon

i just heard a couple of the players saying that they want the support from the community that "it was only one game " well maybe they need to be told that we have been watching this crap for MORE than" ONE GAME"! what part of that do they not get. i don't want to hear keep on watching we have been watching and trying to support them but when they come out with an arrogant statement like the season is more than one game it justs go to show that they really think who they hell they are. maybe that  is the problem someone keeps telling them that they are so great that they think what they are doing is good enough. there are always gonna be idiots out there that will still go to these games for the social event that it is but i believe the only way to get change is to stop going to the games. there is plenty to do during our fall season rather than to pay a high price to watch a team that most pop warner teams could beat. BOYCOTT THE SU FOOTBALL TEAM show them who pays the bills.
