Mitchell Report Expected to Name High Profile Yankees

There's a report that Roger Clemens is one of the players named in the report on drug use in baseball that's coming out today.

The Mitchell Report follows a 20-month investigation. It will be posted on the Internet for all to see.

ESPN.com is reporting that a former trainer for the Yankees and Clemens says the report includes information the trainer gave on supplying the pitcher with steroids.

Another source with knowledge of the findings has told The Associated Press that the report by former Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell will include names of 60 to 80 players linked to performance-enhancing substances.

What's your thoughts on the report? Steroids in Baseball?? Is this news influencing teens? Leave your comments below...

Everybody associates roids with power hitters but the fact is a lot if not most juicers are pitchers.  Im not surprised at all by this.

clemens is being targeted by a boston director of the red sox. no red sox are named on the report. already, this report is tainted. Ramirez is the poster child for the effects of steroids and hgh. if the committee can find accurate testing and the players association ok this in the contract ; yeah right; petitt is also named ; total anti yankee bias coming from a loser player who was jealous, this report is tainted. the book of shadows, is deadly accurate.

The MLB has been a complete joke for at least the past decade. This report just confirms it. Just think of all the players that won't be named, who will no doubt get away with it.

This is not bias. If you do the crime you should do the time. The truth is that too many athletes are using steroids and setting a bad example for young athletes. The Yankee fan as usual can't handle the truth

The list are just those that  the commission could gather information on with some measaure of reliability.  Given the old adage, where there's smoke, there's fire, there are probably another 2-3 dozen we don't know about.

The bigger issue is not about the Yankees or the Astros or the Indians or the Red Sox; its about whether the team owners, the Baseball commissioner, and player's union knowingly turned a blind eye to the practice. Fundamentally, this boils down to money, way too much money... the better you perform, the more you can command, and the more fans stupidly toe the line and pay up just to see you.  It's not about being a good ball player, it's about being the best.  Owners love stars, TV networks love stars, player agents love stars, and whatever it takes to be one, you do.  Like some commentator with a sense of humor once noted when asked what was happening in the game: "The millionaire on first is trying to steal a base from the millionaire on the mound."

Call me Cy the Cynic but I stopped caring about baseball long ago when salaries hit the multi-million dollar mark.  Major league baseball deserves whatever it gets, and right now, it looks like they're getting a big, ugly black eye.  I'd rather watch AAA minor league ball any day.

I'm not a Boston fan. I am a baseball fan. For those who forgot Mo Vaughn is on the list and was on the Red Sox. The Yankees rings for the 90's has an asterisk on it. Just Like Bonds record.

tom f said:

hey fan, your on steroids and acid both. the only asterisk is on the cheating , classless , papi-infested[like hgh] red sox. your team is a big joke; RAMIRREZ FOR PRESIDENT of autistic hitters; the mind of a three year old; THE FAN YOUR AS CLASSLESS AS THE REDSOX AND PATRIOTS

For those that cannot read. I repeat I am not a Red Sox fan. I am a baseball fan who says it like it is. Just like Mike Francesa from Miked Up. I guess you can't handle the truth. Good luck next season without the steroids.

Class I do have, but I can also tell that your probably a jets fan. I feel your pain and believe that patriots should have class and stop running up scores on weak teams. I also believe that too many players are overpaid. Steinbrenner did ruin baseball by offering ridiculous money, but many big market teams followed. We as fans by the tickets and support there wages. Small market teams have a hard time competing, but sometimes do by using their farm system.

im too compassionate of a human being to play smack with you anymore. i believe what you say from your heart. the trainer who fingered pettite and clemens was a disgruntled employee by the yankees, who basically wasnt wanteds by the pitching staff. this man produced no evedence but a fabricated story. i dont like the jets; aand peyton manning is god; whereas brady is ROBO- QB; mike in his helmet and plays on his arm; peyton , runs the whole offese in his head ; case closed.
