So far I found Alfonso's chicken riggies to be the best blend of chicken, sauce, spice, and texture! I've had them at a number of other restaurants. They're located on Court St. in Lyncourt.

Teddy's Restaurant in Rome has THE best Riggies around - they are located at 851 Black River Blvd in Rome. A very close second is Avicolli's on Rt. 57 in Liverpool

I've always loved the Riggies at Babe's in Utica and the former Carmella's in Syracuse - same owners, I think. I've never found any other Riggies with the same type of sauce. It's not too red, not vodka, just right! I was very sad when Carmella's left Syracuse.

Teddy's in Rome wins hands down for Riggies. If you're looking for the best greens, also mentioned on the show, Chesterfield's in Utica is the place to eat.

Utica is NOT in Western New York state as stated in Rachael's recipe. Dominick's in Syracuse has excellent riggies.

I believe "Rico's in E. Syracuse has the very best Chicken Riggies ever! I agree the very best greens are found in Utica at Chesterfield,s. I would drive there just for their greens.

The YWCA has the riggies contest at the Auditorium inUtica and Teddy's in Rome wins for the past couple of years. In fact we were there Saturday night for some and they were as great as ever and portions are unfinishable and home made bread
first class all the way

Sorry, but MY chicken riggies are the best. I first saw them on the menus in Utica when I lived there during college. I did a little research and came up with my own recipe. I flour my chicken pieces and add them to a pan of sauteing mushrooms, shallots, sweet red pepper, and garlic. I then add tomato sauce and sherry and simmer. Only at the end do I add the cream and chopped cherry peppers. The key is to add some of the vinegar from the pepper jar. Toss with riggies, top with parmesan. I've had riggies at restaurants around Syracuse (even at Dominick's) and have been disappointed. If you would like the full recipe, email me and I'll be happy to share it.

My sisiter Michele(Pagano) Mc Donald makes BY FAR THE BEST "chicken riggies" in Syracuse. We are very lucky she makes them to suit each person in the family's taste. I have to say my wife makes the best around! We lived in Whitesboro for 10 years and have eaten lots of riggies! I'd say if your going to go out, Georgio's in Lyncourt is the best in Syracuse. The other Georgio's in New Hartford is excellent also. I think the best riggies in Utica come from Chesterfield's on Bleeker St. I've never been to Teddy's but everyone has sparked my interest!

I used to love Georgio's in Lyncourt when the place was active, now I don't eat there any more because there never seems to be anyone there, and that makes me nervous. How fresh is the food if it's not going out the door as fast as it came in???

Alfonso's in Lyncourt is very good. For the price, I would have to say they are #1. If price didn't matter, Rico's probably is slightly better, but not by much.

Steak & Sundae.......don't even waste your time!

The "riggies" at DELMONICO'S ITALIAN STEAKHOUSE on Erie Blvd. in Syracuse are the best!!! Delmonico's Chicken Riggies come loaded with chunks of chicken, bell peppers, hot peppers, mushrooms, onions, olives and tossed with their awesome sauce.

As a Roman, I tend to agree with Ruby VanDuser. I hear Teddy's has some pretty good Chicken Riggies. I'll admit though, I've never tried them before --- but my friends say they're amazing.

Oh, good grief. Chicken riggies are peasant food - it's pasta and cut up chicken and whatever else was in the fridge - then again, maybe peasants can't afford chicken. Throw in enough sauce and cheese and anything tastes fairly good.

The number one place in Utica for Chicken Riggies is Joey's Italian Restaurant on Mohawk St. in Utica, NY. My husband and I found it during college in '00-'03 and continue to make trips back to Utica, specifically for the Chicken Riggies at Joey's. They are exceptional!

I've had both Dominick's and Rico's.. Dominick's wins hands down! Great taste and just enough spice. Rico's seemed a little "blah" for me.

I am glad that so many responses have come in to places that I haven't tried yet! I love riggies....and always drive to Teddy's in Rome because I love theirs and the fact that they give you sooooooo much that I always take the leftovers home for another meal the next day!!

I have been making my riggies for parties (I have a small catering business) for the last few years and have been told by many who have eaten them at Teddy's, McGill's and other places that my were far better that theirs.

Georgio's in New Hartford are good too but their sauce is different than Rico's. Rico's is number one though haha.

Everyone is sharing their comments regarding great chicken riggis, but I haven't seen a recipe yet? Can someone PLEASE give me a recipe for this dish? I have had them at DelMonico's (the only place in the Albany area I've ever seen them, actually) but cannot seem to find a recipe anywhere! By the way, DelMonico's are too HOT for my tastebuds! Thanks.
