You know I am so sick and tired of hearing about this Tobacco Free Network crap. I am sorry if my smoking offends some of you, and you say that you have rights to live and so on so forth. Us as smokers have rights too! We have the right to smoke, that is our choice. Everyone seems to think that cigertte smoke and second hand smoke is the number one cause of death, well that may be true. But there are certainly alot of other things in our "CLEAN OUTDOOR AIR" that we have to worry about. Look at pollution for instance. Look at exhaust coming from cars. Another thing that law officials should start worrying about is getting the murders, child molestors and drug users of the street. Everyone wants to put there money towards this Tobacco Free Crap! I am sorry but I ll be damned if someone is going to tell me I cant smoke in my vehicle or my home. Ill be damed if someone is going to tell me i cant smoke at the fair either. Sure its fine to stop the sale of smoking products and accessories. That i dont mind. I wouldnt spend a dime of money at the fair to buy this stuff anyways. Cost way too much. But i still feel it is our monies and problem if we wanna smoke. Ill be damned if anyone is going to stop me!!!!! All smokers stand up for your rights too, dont let NYS or anyone else tell you different. Its about time we stand up for our selves and quitt letting everyone walk over us like they are trying!

I don't smoke, and I think that smoking is disgusting.  HOWEVER, smoking is still legal in this country, and I don't appreciate the government telling us what not to do.  Do I love Smoke Free NY, where you can't smoke in restaurants?  Of course.  But telling stores they can't advertise a product that they sell legally is going WAY too far.  Also, in regards to the State Fair, I'm in support of the ban on the Fairgrounds, but I think that Dan O'Hara was wrong to ban the sale of a LEGAL SUBSTANCE on fair property.  The sale of alcohol is still promoted, and really, is a drunken fairgoer any better than a smoking one?

I am a smoker, and I believe I live in the United States of America, not the United States of Russia. There is NO reason at all to ban smoking anywhere in this state or anyother. Our country was founded on rights of ALL people. There is no reason why smokers should have to stand outside to smoke, whether it is at work or anyother place. There should be designated areas for smokers. As far as no smoking at the State Fair--you have got to be kidding me. The diesel fuel smell on the fairway is disgusting. The police have their hands full with all of the drunks at the fair, they do not need something as petty as smoking to enforce. The smoke free NY committee should be more concerned with other things--such as a fax I received at work today to get rescrption drugs without a prescription, through mydrugstore1.com. How scary is this?!!!!!!! Smokers have rights too. The non-smokers think a smoke free NY is so great, wait until the government starts taking things away from you.

ive been smoking 35 years. this country once stood for freedom of choice; it is slowly being eliminated; which makes this country a police state. thank ngod there are 40or more states where these facist restrictions dont exist; beautiful places like nevada; it was shot down there. my overall point is there is some beautful states and human beings looking to be respectful and full of love. the ama; you believe every thing the government tells you; god ,i admire your intelligence and insight in the world. every smoker shouls light up today at 3 oclock for freedom; i give evceryone fair warning big brother is hereand he'll be in your house very soon. be prepared to give up your identity .

I too am a smoker and think that we have ENOUGH rights taken away from us.  Granted it benefits the non-smokers, but come on now.  Enough is enough... children and young adults are going to do what they are going to do.  I think you should ban everything if you are that fearful of our youth and pleasing the non-smoking complainers!  Why don't you just take my life, I can't live it free anyway!  You need to put a sign up on the entire border of New York, "Welcome to the over taxed, homicidal, welfare ridden and no freedom State.  Here you live under the rules until you die."

also, the state is infringing on free enterprize rights. more and more our living is being scrutinized by the police state we live in. i agree with mouse. shes pretty good as a visionary; lets start our own smokers rights club ; im interested.  also recently, dewitt banned smoking at parks and pools, and trails. i happen to live in dewitt.im embarrassed over the law that was passed. they say save the children; let them breathe.in my childhood, i smelled smoke, insecticide spray, and all my life till 18, leade in paint; and im doing just fine

I AM ALL ABOUT A "SMOKERS RIGHTS CLUB". This state is becoming a b.s. place to live. We cant do this and we cant do that! Stephanie is right, getting rid of the sale of Smoking at the fair is "UNFAIR". If they are going to sell alcohol, then should be able to smoke. How many people want to be on the road with a drunk driver. I certainaly dont wanna be. Boy that would be a nice lawsuit if some one gets drunk at the fair and kills some one! What will the fair do then, and they are worried about smoke free. GIVE ME A BREAK! This smoking ban is bullshit! I feel sorry for all of thos who live in Onondaga Co. We dont have that type of law yet here in Oswego, BUT I am sure its coming. Someone will whine and cry and get there way! Stephanie is also right about the smell of Diesel at the fair. It is so RANCID there its pathetic. Thats worse to inhal the cigarette smoke is! Plus you have the steel mill next door, railroad out back, 690 and 695 up front, and along with State Fair Blvd. TO ALL THE SMOKERS, SMOKE EM IF YA GOT EM, STAND UP FOR OUR RIGHTS NOW!!!!!!! I think all smokers should show our collective power and hurt them where it hurts by not going at all to the boring same old fair.  They will only listen if the numbers and the revenue is down.  Boycott the unfair FAIR.

Enough already regarding removing smoking ads. What about the enticing signs and displays for beer and liquor? Seems to me more people are killed daily by someone who is driving a car who is under the influence than cigaretts! These self  appointed righteous people who are against smoking are the ones who have a 3 martini lunch, stop after work and have a few more ( than drive home) and continue.....what a crock!!!!!! Kids today know more ways than one how to purchase/obtain cigaretts AND booze!!!!

So much for diversity! Its amazing how the medea has made some Hate smokers next it will be fat people, Then what? If you dont smoke why do you hate people who do? America spends to much time trying to get each other to conform to the new Socialist society we are becomming! I hate all sorts of people but They used to have a right to pursue happyness!
