Thousands and thousands of bags of ice are melting away outside a warehouse in Geddes.
We're told FEMA ordered too much ice to be used after Hurricane Katrina. They never needed it and now say they have no choice but to get rid of it all.
FEMA says 85 million pounds of ice nationwide is going to be destroyed. They paid $23.7 Million for this ice that won't be used.
Our local plant is one of 22 nationwide contracted to make the ice.
How do you feel about all this ice being allowed to melt?
