Are you Wiped out at Work?

Getting enough quality sleep is something most of us on The Morning News struggle with constantly.  That's not a surprise given our odd hours.  It was interesting to report this morning on how we're apparently not alone in our struggle with getting enough shuteye.  A survey released by the National Sleep Foundation finds people average a little more than six and a-half hours a night on weekdays.  About a third say they've become very sleepy or have even fallen asleep at work.  So how tired are you at work and what's your secret to a good night's sleep?  I could use some help!

I'm open to whatever secret works.  I rarely get more than 6 -6 1/2 hrs of sleep on any night, weekends included, and it's not always fully restful sleep.

OTOH, I'm usually OK at work; it's the late afternoon hours that find me getting tired or drowsy.

I get about 5 1/2 hours of sleep five days  a week.  I work 40+ hours at night and work about 20 hours during the day.  I use to work two full time jobs (40 plus 35)and I was out of energy by the end of the day.  I crash into a deep sleep the minute I hit my pillow.  You have to pay the bills and I am doing the best I can.  On my nights off I am in bed by 6PM.  I sleep about 12 hours.  I have to take care of my family of 6 guys who range in ages from 41 to 8 years of age. I wish there was an easier way to live but if you want to eat and survive you have to work hard and hope for the best.  Take care

I have to agree that my average is 5.5 to 6 hours per night. There is such a high demand for my time with work and family. My wifes efforts are no less than mine. I really feel this has a dramatic affect on our health/lives. The gas prices alone have had a huge impact that we have to work harder.I'm glad the big oil companies are sqeeking by.
