We quickly tried to log-on to hotmail before leaving the house this morning. No go, so we bailed. Now after lunch, it's still not up. In searching the web for answers, we found info about the massive power outage in FL and several sites about hotmail being down, including this one. Does the hotmail service originate out of Florida? Is there any connection? .....A terrorist attack on US electrical grids and/or computer networks is expected my many in the world of gloom-n-doom.

I'm in South Africa, it is 22:46 - hotmail has been down the whole day (and still is) but I have been able to access my emails as my hotmail is synched with outlook express - it has given me problems though.  So annoying!!!

I'm in New Zealand, as if that's not cut off enough from the rest of the world, now my hotmail isn't working..........

The server was down, but I am not the least bit concerned as I have faith Microsoft technicians will work it out.  It is unnecessary for 'meanness' about hotmail.  Any 'brand' of e-mail server is good.  Stand down, people!

my hotmail has been down all day. ive been thinking of moving to gmail for a while. and this outage has pushed me to finally do it.

My Hotmail has been down for at least the past six hours. (I'm in New York, and it's 4pm here.) Can't seriously complain, though, as I only use it for personal correspondence, not business. And I've been using the same Hotmail account for over ten years, but this is only the second problem I've experienced.

it had happened since last weekend, but only impact a small

I'm absolutely switching to gmail after this. This has been so frustrating, and isn't the first time I've had problems with hotmail. I'm thru!

It's 2:13 Pacific time in the US, and I still can't get into my Hotmail.  For me this is a a shock, because I've had my account for years and only very rarely have any troubles.  So this is really frustrating and alarming!  Hope to heaven they're working on whatever needs working on ....

Checked back at 5:30pm EST and it's up.

Gmail sucks.
Yahoo Mail is good, if only if was supported fully by all browsers.

Hotmail is the best.

Microsoft has better servers than Google.
I use Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail and a lot of times mails sent from Gmail take more time than hotmail or yahoo.
Also, Google's Orkut Server goes down like every week in North America.

Google is only good for SEARCH.....

BUT i do use YAHOO [have been since i signed up with them shortly after they appeared on the internet many moons ago]
BUT i also use a host of other emails as well....
google, inbox.com, graffiti.net, Lycos.com, loopymail. rock.com, inboxnow.com, joinme.com, world2[you put the something you need in your email here].com == [let me explain the world????.com webmail... EXAMPLE - yourname.world2[YOUSELF].com

AND none of them were down at all.  ALLOF THEM HAVE BIG EMIL SPACES FROM SEVERAL GIGS TO UNLIMITED

hotmail has been down for a couple of days now and in was very annoying. you would not expect this from microsoft. i bet you it is related to some updates/ tests which cocked it all up.

I didn't have ANY problems back on the 26th (didn't even know there was an issue)... I actually checked my email before bed on friday night and was able to log in without a problem.  Now, ever since Sat morning (Mar 1st) I've been unable to sign in at all since and it's now monday the 3rd of march.  I had a hard time finding ANY info on the web and the info I did find said that everyone was back up and fine... except ME!!!  I am frustrated especially since it's practically impossible to find any tech support phone numbers without having to "sign in" to get them.  Anyone else still down??

My hotmail has been down at specific times - every night - for the last 2 weeks! It is now 25 Mar 08. I'm in South East Asia...I can't even get into the login page!

im in cleveland and as of this morning ive tried multiple browsers on both mac and pc and every time i try to go to the login page or any hotmail page i cant connect to the server. i can get onto the msn main page but if i click on hotmail or just go straight to it it will not work
