(1) Fragile glassware: It could chip, and high heat, detergent and hard water could cause tiny scratches called etching.
(2) Hand-painted china. The finish may come off.
(3) Sterling silver. High temperatures can strip it of its patina.
(4) Wood. It can warp and split.
(5) Cast-iron cookware. It can rust.
(6) Tin cups. They can rust.
(7) Non-dishwasher-safe plastic. It can melt.
(8) Dishwashing liquid. (the stuff you use to wash dishes by hand.). You'll have a lot of suds and a big mess to clean up.
