He was 82.<br><br>Griffin started out his career as a singer and movie actor. He later hosted "The Merv Griffin Show," which aired for more than 20 years.<br><br>But his biggest financial break came from creating and producing "Jeopardy!" and "Wheel of Fortune." He then sold the rights for about $250 million, but kept a share of the profits.<br><br>Griffin later went into hotel, casino and other real estate ventures. "Sopranos" creator David Chase was in France, unreachable to all press, according to an HBO publicist. But she left the jail early Thursday morning, according to TMZ.com, which did not name its sources.<br><br>The website also said the amount of time she served for the charge. He was eliminated from ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" Tuesday. </p> <p>Drexler and his professional partner, Elena Grinenko, earned a paltry 13 points out of 30 plus harsh words from the judges for their performance of the rumba. </p> <p>"You're the worst dancer in this competition," judge Carrie Ann Inaba said, "and tonight was really bad." </p> <p>Still, Drexler kept a smile on his face, graciously thanking the judges, his partner, his fellow contestants and the fans when he learned he was this week's celebrity casualty. </p> <p>"I want to thank the fans who voted and kept us in the competition," he said. "Lord knows they were keeping us in." </p> <p>Each week, judges' scores are combined with viewer votes to determine which couple will be eliminated. For the first time, I think ever, Simon had some criticism for <b>Melinda Doolittle</b>, who seemed like she could do no wrong. Simon said her performance lacked personality. <br> <br> <b>LaKisha Jones</b> had a similar fate, putting her own spin on Miami Sound Machine’s “Conga.” Both Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell said the choice was too "safe."<br> <b><br> Chris Richardson's</b> performance of Rob Thomas & Santana's recent hit "Smooth" earned praise for all of the judges. Simon was not impressed with Chris' vocal performance, but said it was a "good choice."<br> <br> <b>Blake Lewis</b> appeared to have the best performance of the night, with his rendition of Mark Anthony's "I Need to Know."
