He later hosted "The Merv Griffin Show," which aired for more than 20 years.

But his biggest financial break came from creating and producing "Jeopardy!" and "Wheel of Fortune." in a Los Angeles jail. The hotel heiress told CNN's Larry King she has
changed and she's going to cut back on her partying. She also says
she's looking to get involved with charitable causes.

From Wednesday Night's Interview:
KING: The obvious -- the purpose of jail, prison, jail, confinement is to teach a lesson.

HILTON: Yes.

KING: Or at least that's a big part of it. Did it work for you?

HILTON:
It definitely -- it was a very traumatic experience, but I feel like
God does make everything happen for a reason. And it gave me, you know,
a time-out in life to really find out what's important and what I want
to do, figuring out who I am. And I'm -- even though it was really
hard, I took that time just to get to know myself.

KING: Did it change you?

HILTON: Yes, definitely. I have a new outlook on life.

KING: Was there a couple of days -- when did it happen? Quickly? Or did it happen over a period of time?

HILTON:
In the beginning, it was really hard, really hard for me. It's kind of
a blow. So kind of traumatic. But after a while, I had to accept that I
could either make the best of it or make the worst of it. So I just
went with the motto don't serve the time; let the time serve you. And
so that really helped.

ABC said Friday she won't return to the show after an angry confrontation with co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck on Wednesday.

O'Donnell reportedly asked for, and received, an early exit from her contract. She was planning to leave "The View" in June.

Rosie and Hasselbeck argued about O'Donnell's opposition to the war in Iraq, an argument that went on without commercial interruption for several minutes.

It was not the first argument the two had on-air, but was possibly the most heated.

"How can we let anybody go on a charity night," said American Idol host Ryan

Seacrest, after announcing that all six of the remaining contestants were safe in the "most

shocking result" of the Fox megahit's history.

Instead, the 70 million votes cast by fans this week will be combined with next week's

results for a double elimination.

The star-studded 'Idol Gives Back' results show was dedicated to raising money benefiting

needy children in both Africa and the U.S.

Ellen DeGeneres hosted part of the two-hour special at the Walt Disney Concert Hall, that

featured performances from Earth, Wind & Fire; Il Divo; Josh Groban and The African

Children's Choir; Kelly Clarkson featuring Jeff Beck; and Annie Lennox.

Clad in crisp, white suits, the final six contenders performed "Time To Care," written by legendary

composer Quincy Jones and closed the show with U2's "American Prayer."

Also taking to the American Idol stage was Celine Dion singing "If I Can Dream" with a

virtual 1968-era Elvis.

Toward the end of the show, Seacrest announced that an estimated $30
million was already raised through viewer donations via toll-free
number and the Idol web site.

Save the Children; America's Second Harvest: The
Nation's Food Bank Network; Boys & Girls Clubs of America and
Children's Health Fund are among the organizations benefiting American
children.

Donations given to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS,
Tuberculosis and Malaria; Malaria No More; Nothing But Nets; Save the
Children and the U.S. Fund for UNICEF will help African children.

Inspiration-Themed Peformance Recap:

Chris Richardson- opened the show with Eric Clapton's "Change The World." "You're in

it to win it," said Randy. "I'm really proud of you," said Paula. "Sexy performance,"

said Simon.

Melinda Doolittle- sang "There Will Come A Day" by Faith Hill. "You have

arrived...Melinda is here," said Randy. "There's no one like you...you're magical," said

Paula. "It wasn't a copycat performance...that was a vocal masterclass," said Simon.

Blake Lewis- performed "Imagine." "It's the first real sensitive performance I've

seen from you," said Paula. "This is a tricky because you've chose one of the big songs of

all time...It felt sincere," said Simon.

LaKisha Jones- sang "I Believe" by past Idol winner Fantasia. "I don't think

it was your best performance, but I did like it," said Randy. "You've taken on a monster,"

said Paula. "I'm having an issue with the shouting," said Simon

Phil Stacey- sang "The Change" by Garth Brooks, which was written after the Oklahoma

City Bombing. "A very nice vocal on a very great song," said Randy. "This was your best,"

said Paula. "I really like you...I think people like you," said Simon.

Jordin Sparks- closed the show with "You'll Never Walk Alone." "That was the hottest

tonight America," said Randy. "It's one of those songs that is very haunting... you were

glorious," said Paula. "You could have a hit record with that," said Simon.

So no one was voted off this week, but two people are supposed to receive their walking papers next week? Sweeps stunt anyone? Leave your comments & thoughts.

-Shaun

Drexler and his professional partner, Elena Grinenko, earned a
paltry 13 points out of 30 plus harsh words from the judges for their
performance of the rumba.

"You're the worst dancer in this competition," judge Carrie Ann Inaba said, "and tonight was really bad."

Each week, judges' scores are combined with viewer votes to
determine which couple will be eliminated. Drexler and Grinenko were
among the lowest-scorers throughout this season's dance-off.

Tuesday's results show also featured an appearance by "Dancing With
the Stars" alumna Lisa Rinna, who gave a preview of her work in the
Broadway musical "Chicago" with a sassy performance of "Roxie."

Grammy-winner Macy Gray also performed, singing her new single,
"Finally Made Me Happy," which she dedicated to the victims of the
Virginia Tech shooting.

Paulina Porizkova, Shandi Finnessey and Leeza Gibbons have already
been eliminated. The remaining celebrity dancers are Billy Ray Cyrus,
Ian Ziering, Joey Fatone, Laila Ali, John Ratzenberger, Heather Mills
and Apolo Anton Ohno. All will perform a group swing dance on next
week's show.

Thoughts on the performances fans?

"Idol's" Latin Week

It was "Latin Night" for the eight remaining
"Idol" contestants Tuesday night,
and music diva Jennifer Lopez helped guide the contestants.

It seemed the female contestants could not find their groove. For the first
time, I think ever,
Simon had some criticism for Melinda Doolittle,
who seemed like she could do no wrong. Simon said her performance lacked
personality.

LaKisha Jones had a similar fate,
putting her own spin on Miami Sound Machine’s “Conga.” Both Paula Abdul and
Simon Cowell said the choice was too "safe."

Chris Richardson's performance of Rob Thomas & Santana's recent hit
"Smooth" earned praise for all of the judges. Simon was not impressed
with Chris' vocal performance, but said it was
a "good choice."

Blake Lewis appeared to have the best performance of the night,
with his rendition of Mark Anthony's "I Need to Know." All three
judges agreed, it was the best performance of
the night.

Sanjaya Malakar wrapped up the night,
doing his best to sing "Besame Mucho." He impressed JLo in the rehearsals.
Perhaps in the most shocking moment of the night was Simon's reaction to the
performance: "It wasn't horrible!

So, who do you think will get voted off? Will Sanjaya live for another week?
